Anatolia
Introduction
St Paul’s First Missionary Journey started at Antioch where he sailed from the nearby port of Selucia to Cyprus. After Cyprus he sailed to Perga and then overland to Pisidian Antioch and the cities of Iconium, Lystra and Derbe before retracing his route to Antioch. On the Second and Third Journeys he travelled overland from Antioch via Tarsus, his birthplace, to Derbe and then followed the same route to Pisidian Antioch. From here he made his way to the coast and then to Greece before returning by sea. With the riches of Cappadocia so close the opportunity was too good to miss hence the pilgrimage is essentially Cappadocia plus part of the routes that Paul followed on all three of his journeys.
