Braga - Bom Jesus
The morning will be free to relax and get to know Braga. In the afternoon, depart by coach for the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus, where we celebrate Mass. Afterwards you can either take the lift or climb the 1000 steps to the top in the footsteps of countless other pilgrims. Return to our hotel.
DAY THREE
Santiago de Compostela
An early start, for the drive to Santiago de Compostela, where we meet our local guide for a tour of the Cathedral and its surroundings. The Cathedral has an amazing baroque façade hiding the much earlier Romanesque building lying on the site where in the 8th century it was thought that the tomb of St James had been discovered. This is the end of the road, and the climax is touching the great figure of the Saint behind the altar. This afternoon will be at leisure before we return to our coach for the transfer to our hotel.

This morning we have an early start for the drive south to Fatima, known as the Hope of the World, where Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children between 13th May and 13th October 1917. There will be a guided tour in the morning including a visit to the Basilica and the Chapel of the Apparitions. After time for lunch we proceed to Aljustrel for Stations of the Cross and to visit the Shrines of the Apparitions of Our Lady and the angels, and to see the homes of the children, and possibly relatives of Jacinta (and Francisco) and Lucia.
