Introduction

St. Petersburg is one of the great cities of the world and at its heart lies the Hermitage; one of the largest and most magnificent museums to be found anywhere. On this trip we spend some time enjoying the Hermitage collection which comprises some 15,000 paintings, over 12,000 sculptures, and more than 600,000 drawings and engravings. On display are works by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Titian, Rembrandt, Rubens, Renoir, Picasso, and many others.
