Pilgrimage to Oberammergau & Altotting

Scheduled flight from London to Munich. Transfer to our hotel in Oberammergau for dinner and a 2 night stay.
The morning is at leisure in the picturesque village of Oberammergau. After lunch at around noon, the Passion Play commences at 2:30pm, with an interval at 5pm during which we will be served a three course dinner, before witnessing the second part of the Passion Play which finishes at 10:30pm, after which we walk the short distance back to our hotel.
After breakfast, we depart Oberammergau and travel to Ettal Abbey, a Benedictine Monastery in the village of Ettal. The abbey was founded in 1330 and is home to more than 50 monks. We continue towards Fussen and Neuschwanstein Castle where we stop to have a photograph of this great attraction. There will be the opportunity to purchase lunch in Fussen. Continue to Wieskirche where we visit the 18th pilgrimage church followed by a visit to Marienmunster Church in Dießen am Ammersee. Afterwards we transfer by coach to Alt tting where we check into our hotel accommodation for dinner and a 2 night stay.
After breakfast, we visit Altotting, one of Germany’s most well known Marian pilgrimage shrines. Time at leisure to explore the shrine and the town. After lunch (at choice) we drive to Gstadt am Chiemsee where we board the boat that takes us to one of two islands on Lake Chiemsee. Here we will visit the Herrenchiemsee, the Ludwig II palace recreating the glories of Versailles, formerly the site of an Augustinian monastery, constructed in the 19th century. We have a guided tour of the New Palace and the opportunity to visit the King Ludwig II museum, and the Augustinian monastery. In the late afternoon, we take the boat back to Gstadt am Chiemsee where we meet our coach for the transfer to Alt tting. Dinner will be in our hotel this evening.
After breakfast we check out of our hotel and transfer to the riverside town of Landshut for some time at leisure. We then transfer to the Freising for time to explore this historic cathedral city After lunch at choice in Freising, we transfer to Munich Airport for our return flight to the UK.
This tour involves a substantial amount of walking, some of which will be over irregular surfaces such as cobblestones and badly-maintained walking areas. If everyday walking is something you find difficult, this tour may be unsuitable for you.

All current airport departure taxes. 1 piece of checked in luggage. 2 night’s accommodation in shared* twin or double-bedded accommodation at the Alte Post Hotel (or similar), Oberammergau (3 stars). 2 night’s accommodation in shared* twin or double-bedded rooms in a 3-star hotel in Altotting. 4 breakfasts and 4 dinners. Tickets for the Passion Play. Guided tour as per the itinerary. Airport transfers and touring by coach as per the itinerary. Entrance fees as per the itinerary.· Daily celebration of Mass in English/Latin. ATOL and ABTA financial protection.
*If you select to share a twin room when booking but have no one to share with, we will try to pair you up with someone of the same gender in the group. However, if there is no one available to pair you up with we will charge a supplement of £76 as you would have single occupancy of the rooms.

Terms of Payment:
To reserve your place on the tour you will need to complete a booking form and return it to Pax Travel with a non-refundable deposit of £250 per person. A further non- refundable payment of £400 per person to be paid by 30th August 2019. A further non- refundable payment of £400 per person to be paid by 6th January 2020. Cheques are to be issued in favour of Pax Travel Ltd. The balance payment is due no later than 17th April 2020.
