Pilgrimage to Celtic Christian sites in Ireland

Early morning coach pick up at Hexham, Chollerton, Humshaugh, Bellingham and Otterburn. Transfer to Cairnryan Port, with a coffee stop at Kirkcudbright, where we board our ferry to Larne Harbour. Upon arrival we transfer to the Hill of Slane for a short visit before transferring to our hotel in Drogheda for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast we travel to Glendalough for time for time for guided explanation of this glacial valley renowned for an Early Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin. Lunch at your own expense in Glendalough. We travel to Kilkenny in the late afternoon where we check into our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
This morning we have some time at leisure to explore Kilkenny before transferring to Cashel. Time for lunch (at your own expense) followed by guided time in Cashel, before travelling to Limerick where we check into our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
We check out of our hotel in Limerick for a visit to the village of Adare and a guided visit to its medieval friary. Lunch can be purchased here (at your own expense). Afterwards, we travel to Kilmacdaugh to visit the 7th century monastery founded by Saint Colman. Transfer to Clonmacnoise where we check into out hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast we visit the ruins of Clonmacnoise, one of the most rewarding ecclesiastical sites in Ireland. Afterwards, we transfer to Dublin for a visit to Trinity College, which contains some of the famous early Irish manuscripts such as the Book of Kells and the Book of Armagh (9th Century Gospel manuscripts). We check into our hotel in Dublin for an overnight stay.
After breakfast we travel back to Larne Harbour, with a stop at Downpatrick, before boarding the ferry back to Cairnryan Port. Upon arrival at Cairnryan, we transfer to Newcastle with drop offs at Otterburn, Bellingham, Humshaugh, Chollerton and Hexham.
THE GROUP WILL MEET EACH EVENING FOR A BRIEFING RELATING TO THE NEXT DAY’S SITES, CLOSING WITH CELTIC EVENING PRAYER, AND FOR CELTIC MORNING PRAYER BEFORE SETTING OUT EACH DAY
This tour involves a substantial amount of walking, some of which will be over irregular surfaces such as cobblestones and badly-maintained walking areas. If everyday walking is something you find difficult, this tour may be unsuitable for you.

Return ferry service: Cairnryan - Larne - Cairnryan. 1 piece of luggage per person. 5-nights accommodation in shared twin rooms with private facilities as follows: 8th - 9th June, Drogheda; 9th - 10th June, Kilkenny; 10th - 11th June, Limerick; 11th - 12th June, Clonmacnoise; 12th - 13th June, Dublin. TO RESERVE YOUR PLACE ON THIS TOUR you will need to complete a booking form and return it to Pax Travel with a non-refundable deposit of £200 per person. Cheques are to be issued in favour of Pax Travel Ltd.
The balance payment is payable no later than 8th April 2020.
